The history of ICS
An interesting history, a bright future
ICS came into existence as part of the Netherlands-based activities of the Bank of America, the first bank in the world to issue a credit card. When this bank withdrew from the Dutch market, the credit card division in the Netherlands was sold to VSB Bank. This merged with AMEV and AG Group in 1990 to form Fortis. Today, ICS is an independent subsidiary of ABN AMRO Bank (Netherlands).
The introduction of the Visa World Card Corporate in 1995 represented an initial step into the business market. In 2011, the business Card portfolios of PaySquare and Deutsche Bank were added to the ICS portfolio. At the beginning of 2013, ICS formally took over the issuing of business Cards from ABN AMRO. Issuing these Cards entailed a structural expansion of the ICS portfolio. ICS is the market leader in issuing business credit cards in the Netherlands.
